Have you spotted this on the London Underground?

Tube posters are up, rehearsals are in their final stages and the EOC Orchestra are finely tuned for 8 performances of Monteverdi’s epic The Return of Ulysses. Presented ‘in the round’ in this iconic building, in a collaboration between The Roundhouse and The Royal Opera, this tale of war and homecoming is a masterpiece from the later period of Monteverdi’s career.

The Return of Ulysses (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) is one of only three surviving operas by the Renaissance composer Claudio Monteverdi. The opera is a masterpiece: Monteverdi invests majestic music with great pathos and dramatic truth, driving with astonishing directness to the heart of each of his complex characters.

Tickets can still be found via The Royal Opera and The Roundhouse.
