“a veritable whirlwind of instrumental and vocal fireworks”

Last Friday we welcomed star soprano Sophie Bevan to the stage at St John’s Smith Square for what has been described as a ‘veritable whirlwind of instrumental and vocal fireworks’.

Exploring a variety of concerto grosso forms by Handel, Wassenaer and Muffat, this was a chance for both delicate and barnstorming interplay between our instrumentalists.  Sophie Bevan also beguiled the whole audience with a ravishing performance of Handel’s motet Silete Venti.
